What the National Weather Service wrote

A public report was received via an mPING of quarter-sized hail on the southwest side of Midland. The total time of occurrence is estimated from radar.

The wider storm

An outflow-reinforced front moved into the area during the morning of June 22nd, and a dryline set up over west Texas. These features, combined with lift from a disturbance in the upper-level flow, yield thunderstorm development during the afternoon. One storm in rural Pecos County interacted with remnant surface vorticity from the decaying boundary and managed to produce a weak tornado. Another storm moved through Midland and produced up to ping-pong ball sized hail.

Began near Midland (31.9500, -102.1000).
