What the National Weather Service wrote

Multiple reports from the public and from the media of up to ping pong ball sized hail on the southern and eastern sides of Midland. The total time of occurrence is estimated from radar.

The wider storm

An outflow-reinforced front moved into the area during the morning of June 22nd, and a dryline set up over west Texas. These features, combined with lift from a disturbance in the upper-level flow, yield thunderstorm development during the afternoon. One storm in rural Pecos County interacted with remnant surface vorticity from the decaying boundary and managed to produce a weak tornado. Another storm moved through Midland and produced up to ping-pong ball sized hail.

Began near Midland (32.0200, -102.0400).
