The wider storm

A very unstable but relatively weak shear atmosphere brought storms to the region on the evening of June 11. One notable storm formed just east of the City of Roanoke and passed across Bedford County. It produced 1 size hail and blew down a few trees as a result. While much of the Mid-Atlantic had CAPE of 2000-4000 J/kg, better synoptic ascent from mid-level shortwaves were located to the north.

Began near Chamblissburg (37.2664, -79.6820).
