Hail ranging from pea to penny sized was reported near the Technical College of the Lowcountry near the southwest side of downtown Beaufort. The hail was mostly pea size with a few pieces up to penny size observed as it bounced on the ground and cars.

Isolated thunderstorms developed in the afternoon hours along the southeast South Carolina coast. One storm in Beaufort County became strong enough to produce hail.
