What the National Weather Service wrote

While the main thunderstorm was not close to the event, outflow gusts from a thunderstorm along the NC/VA border are suspected of blowing down a large tree branch in the community of Turbeville. This branch smashed through a windshield of SUV travelling on US 58 between Wilkins Road and Turbeville Road. The driver of the SUV did not sustain any injuries.

The wider storm

A mid-level trough dragged a cold front through the Mid-Atlantic and brought scattered thunderstorms to the forecast area. Inverted V-profiles in the weather sounding and high DCAPE values (>1000 J/kg) supported conditions favorable for damaging wind gusts in the form of wet microbursts with these storms. Severe weather potential was limited due to lackluster dew points and absence of wind shear. Nevertheless, several trees were reported down with almost half of them in Buckingham County.
