Strong warm advection ahead of an approaching northwest flow wave spawned several elevated thunderstorms, some of which organized into short bowing segments with 60 to 70 knots of effective shear and around 2000 J/kg MUCAPE. Convective wind gusts from 58 to 68 mph occurred near the Storm Lake area.
