The wider storm
June brought modest drought improvement to portions of the Missouri Bootheel, but drought conditions remained significant by the end of the month. Beneficial rainfall helped prevent further deterioration and improved conditions in localized areas, but Severe Drought (D2) persisted across portions of the Bootheel, indicating that substantial long-term moisture deficits remained. Continued rainfall will be necessary for meaningful drought recovery.
