An upper level trough and associated surface cold front approached from the west. Out ahead of the cold front, a pre-frontal trough moved through the area. The pre-frontal trough sparked convection in an area characterized by about 1000 J/kg of MLCAPE and 35 kt of 0-6km bulk shear. Several severe thunderstorms formed and produced damaging wind gusts.

Began near Packanack Lake (40.9500, -74.2500).
