The wider storm

A cold front moved across western and central Wyoming and brought a scattering of showers and thunderstorms. With large dew point depressions and supportive upper level dynamics, strong wind gusts occurred across much of central Wyoming. The most widespread high wind gusts were in Johnson County. After the cold front passage, a brief period of high wind driven by a tight pressure gradient and northwest flow brought strong synoptic winds to Johnson County.

Began near Sussex (43.5400, -106.4800).
