A 60 mph wind gust occurred at the Southwest Wyoming Regional Airport near Rock Springs.

An upper level shortwave moved over Wyoming, accompanied by a jet streak. The surface dew points remained low, resulting in large dew point depressions. The result was many severe thunderstorms that produced wind gusts in excess of 58 mph.
