Wind gusts as high as 79 mph occurred at 20 Mile Hill along Interstate 25.
The wider storm
An upper level shortwave moved over Wyoming, accompanied by a jet streak. The surface dew points remained low, resulting in large dew point depressions. The result was many severe thunderstorms that produced wind gusts in excess of 58 mph.
