A strong capping inversion broke along a frontal boundary during the early evening of June 29. With MLCAPE from 2000-3000 J/kg and effective shear of up to 50 to 60 knots, isolated stronger storms developed quickly across Nebraska and moved across the Missouri River into far southern South Dakota with up to quarter size hail.
