Emergency manager reported multiple trees blown down off Highway 321 just north of Lenoir. Media reported additional trees and some power lines blown down on the north side of town.

Isolated thunderstorms developed across the North Carolina mountains and foothills during the late afternoon and early evening. A couple of the storms produced brief damaging wind gusts and hail.
