The wider storm

A remnant outflow boundary extended roughly west-to-east from North Central Texas into Northeast Texas and far Northwest Louisiana early in the afternoon on June 2nd, with a separate convective outflow boundary analyzed to the north across Southeast Oklahoma and Southwest Arkansas. South of this secondary outflow boundary, temperatures were in the lower 90s F with lower to mid 70s dew points supportive of strong buoyancy characterized by MLCAPE values 3000-3500+ J/kg. High precipitable water (PWAT) values of 1.7+ inches within the unstable environment supported strong downdrafts capable of isolated damaging wind gusts. As a result, thunderstorms increased in coverage through the afternoon along these boundaries with several damaging wind reports recorded across parts of Northwest Louisiana along with a few reports of localized flash flooding.

Began near Homer (32.7900, -93.0600).
