What the National Weather Service wrote

Extensive tree damage along Hunt, Cooper, and Book Roads, and across US-19. This occurred on the southern periphery of a mesovortex track just prior to tornado formation.

The wider storm

Aided by a cold front and a shortwave, a strong line of thunderstorms developed in central Ohio and quickly progressed east across western Pennsylvania and northern West Virginia. A moisture rich environment with mid to upper 60s dew points and mid 70s temperatures supported a favorable setup with MLCAPE values around 1000 J/kg and strong effective shear of 40-50 knots. Widespread swaths of wind damage were noted with 60-80 mph wind, and plenty of low level shear also supported embedded mesovortices and transient tornadoes within the line of thunderstorms.

Began near Grant City (40.9898, -80.1713).
