A peak gust of 68 mph was recorded at the Santa Teresa AWOS. The same gust was recorded at the NWS office in Santa Teresa.

The dryline pushed west towards the Rio Grande Valley and a subtle upper level disturbance in southwest flow helped to trigger severe thunderstorms with strong winds and heavy rain. Almost 2 inches of rain was reported with some of these storms.
