A period of extreme heat moved into the region during the end of June with widespread heat indices over 100 degrees. The wider storm
During the last two days of June, a favorable synoptic weather pattern brought extreme heat to western Wisconsin as ample moisture resulted in remarkably high dewpoints. Consequently, heat indices soared well above 100 degrees with numerous locations seeing heat indices of 105 to 115 degrees. June 29th was the hottest day, but extreme heat persisted into the 30th for areas south of Interstate 90 where heat indices in excess of 100 degrees were still common.
