Drought in Marion, Texas
Drought June 1, 2026 – June 24, 2026 · Marion, Texas
The wider storm
Extreme (D3) and Severe (D2) drought conditions continued across Cass, Marion, and Shelby Counties in East Texas through much of June, before widespread 4-8+ inches of rain fell across these areas, thus reducing drought to Moderate (D1) by the final week of the month. While some of the rain was excessive and resulted in flash flooding at times, particularly across Northeast Cass County, improvement to soil moisture as well as streamflow was observed across the area, with ag producers reporting improvement to stock pond levels and greenup of pastures. Beneficial rain continued into the first half of July, with additional improvement to drought conditions observed.
