Drought in Coahoma, Mississippi

Drought June 1, 2026 – June 30, 2026 · Coahoma, Mississippi

What the National Weather Service wrote

D3 Extreme Drought improved to D2 Severe Drought and D1 Moderate Drought conditions by the end of the month.

The wider storm

June brought some drought relief to north Mississippi, but recovery remained limited. Beneficial rainfall helped reduce drought intensity in localized areas, but Extreme and Severe Drought persisted in the southwestern zones, and significant agricultural impacts continued. Sustained and widespread rainfall will be necessary to replenish deeper soil moisture, restore pastures, and substantially reduce the long-term precipitation deficits across the region.
