An estimated 45 mph wind gust was observed by the public at station KMIONTON26 in Ontonagon.

The wider storm

Multiple rounds of thunderstorms swept over Lake Superior in late June as minor disturbances pivoted around a mid-level ridge over the southeastern CONUS. These disturbances caused multiple incidences of thunderstorm-driven outflow and gusty winds on Lake Superior from the afternoon of the 29th to the early morning hours of the 30th. A strengthening low level jet and wake lows trailing the thunderstorms resulted in additional periods of gusty winds, above gale force.

Began near Ontonagon Light (46.8700, -89.3200).
