Wider weather episode
An arctic cold front swept through northern Indiana early on December 21st. Strong west winds of 20 to 35 mph, combined with lake-effect snow showers created reduced visibilities and blowing snow. This led to icy road conditions. Four people were killed that evening from a car accident on the Indiana toll road near New Carlisle.
