Winter Storm — Northern Clinton, Pennsylvania
2009-01-10 · Northern Clinton, Pennsylvania
Event narrative
Five to seven inches of snow was reported across Northern Clinton County.
Wider weather episode
A clipper-like system brought moderate to heavy snowfall to north central Pennsylvania. The snow started early in the morning and tapered off in the evening. Snow accumulations generally ranged from four to eight inches followed by a brief wintry mixture of sleet, freezing rain and freezing drizzle which resulted in a light glazing of ice.
Further south across the Laurel Highlands, warmer air caused snow and sleet to change to freezing rain for most of the event. This resulted in a significant ice accumulation of one quarter inch.
