Gusty north winds affected the foothill areas south of the Santa Ynez Mountains. The RAWS sensor at Montecito reported north winds gusting to 72 MPH.
Wider weather episode
A strong northerly wind event produced gusty winds across the mountains of Santa Barbara, Ventura and Los Angeles counties and the south coast of Santa Barbara county. Wind gusts in excess of 70 MPH were reported in some locations.
