Event narrative

Up to fourteen inches of snow fell around Fairfield and on the Camas Prairie closing U.S. Highway 20 from Mountain Home to Fairfield and State Highway 46 from Fairfield to Gooding. Blowing and drifting snow created significant difficulties on area roads.

Wider weather episode

A winter storm blanketed much of Southwest Idaho with six to fifteen inches of snow over the Christmas holiday period from the 24th to the 25th of December.
