The wider storm

Snow developed across the foothills and western Piedmont of North Carolina. The snow continued through the overnight hours before tapering off during the morning. Total snowfall accumulations ranged from trace amounts across the NC foothills, to 3 inches in the Charlotte metro area and surrounding locations.
