An intense Spring storm system produced heavy snow over a large portion of southern Colorado. Some of the heavier snow amounts include 6 and more inches in and around Rye (Pueblo County), locally, 8 inches in and around Alamosa, the Great Sand Dunes and the Black Forest (El Paso County), and 10 inches in Rosita (Custer County) and Beulah (Pueblo County). In addition...around a foot of snow fell across the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and surrounding high valleys. Crestone (Saguache County)...on the east side of the San Luis Valley...received up to 23 inches of snow.
