A 40 knot wind gust was recorded at the GLERL station near Michigan City.
Wider weather episode
A small cluster of thunderstorms developed in eastern Wisconsin and rapidly expanded eastward. A large cold pool developed and forced the convection towards the southeast acorss far southeastern Lake Michigan.
