The RAWS sensor at Montecito reported north winds with sustained speeds between 40 and 49 MPH with gusts to 63 MPH.

A strong northerly pressure gradients developed across the counties of Santa Barbara, Ventura and Los Angeles counties producing strong and gusty northerly winds across the mountains. Across the Santa Ynez range in Santa Barbara county, wind gusts in excess of 60 MPH were reported which helped fuel the Jesusita Fire. Through the Interstate 5 corridor in Ventura and Los Angeles counties, northerly wind gusts between 69 and 85 MPH were reported.
