A broad trough extending from the Central Caribbean to the north of Hispaniola combined with a southeast wind and favorable upper level conditions and produced numerous showers with thunderstorms which caused heavy rain across the San Juan metropolitan area, as well over western interior and west section of Puerto Rico.
