Event narrative
Thunderstorms producing heavy rain persisted over Havelock for several hours. Doppler radar estimated 3 to 5 inches occurred near Havelock. An elderly woman drove into a flooded loading dock and drowned when trying to get out of her vehicle.
Wider weather episode
Numerous thunderstorms persisted just inland from the coast during the late evening hours of Jun 12th into the the early morning hours of June 13th 2009. These storms dropped locally very heavy rain and flooding occurred in Havelock.
