Event narrative
A couple of structures had portions of their roofs blown off, shingles were blown off several dozen residences, hundreds of large trees were blown down, tin roofs were blown off barns and outbuildings, and a couple of old farm buildings were blown down. Several houses were damaged by falling trees. The trailer of a parked tractor-trailer was overturned. Power lines were blown down.
Wider weather episode
A fast-moving line of thunderstorms, known as a derecho, rushed across Arkansas on the afternoon of the 12th. Widespread wind damage and one tornado resulted.
