A slow-moving Pacific storm system brought accumulating snow to portions of South Central Montana. Strong dynamics generated periods of heavy snow during the afternoon and overnight/early morning hours of the 16th and 17th. The following totals were received:
8 inches 23S Big Timber at the Placer Basin Snotel site (elevation 8830ft), 10 inches outside Cooke City at the White Mill Snotel (8700ft), and 12 inches 22N Livingston at the South Fork Shields Snotel Site (8100ft).
