A 21 year old man drowned due to a rip current in the waters off Jacob Riis Park in Queens.
The wider storm
Strong onshore flow and southerly swells combined to produce conditions favorable for dangerous rip currents. One such rip current caused a young man to drown off the coast of Queens.
