High winds uprooted several trees in Atkinson one of which fell on a parked car on RT 111.
Wider weather episode
A rapidly intensifing storm system moved up the eastern seaboard on Saturday the 28th, then tracked north across New York State Saturday night. As the storm continued north on Sunday, a trailing cold front swepted through the region followed by very gusty southwest winds which continued to produce spotty damage.
