A 21 year old male died in strong rip currents in the Atlantic Ocean off Jacob Riis Park in Queens.

Persistent onshore wind flow and long period swells produced dangerous rip currents at area beaches. These strong rip currents caused a young man's death off Jacob Riis Park in Queens and another man's death off Jones Beach in Nassau County.
