A trained weather observer at the Naval Air Station Key West observed a waterspout about 3 miles northeast of Boca Chica Key. The waterspout appeared as a mature funnel cloud extending from cloud base to the water surface.

A cumulus cloud line north of the Lower Florida Keys produced a waterspout.
