Event narrative

Strong west and southwest winds continued well into the evening hours as a strong cold front passed through southeast Arizona. A trained spotter measured a wind gust of 60 mph at Bisbee in Cochise county. The spotter noted moderate broken tree branches at the time, along with flying debris and some minor roof damage. ASOS at Fort Huachuca measured a wind gust of 62 mph.

Wider weather episode

An unseasonably strong and cold low pressure system entered northwest Arizona on October 27. As this storm system and its associated strong cold front approached southeast Arizona, strengthening pressure gradients created widespread winds and blowing dust.
