A wind gust of 44 knots...51 mph...was measured at the Long Key Light C-MAN station.

A strong outflow boundary eminating from strong thunderstorms over the southeast Gulf of Mexico became the focus of new thunderstorm development across the Florida Keys. Gale force wind gusts occurred at several locations as the thunderstorms moved toward the east, sweeping across the length of the Florida Keys.
