A wind gust of 35 knots...40 mph...was measured at the Citizen Weather Observer Program automated station at the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority Pump Station on Long Key.

A strong outflow boundary eminating from strong thunderstorms over the southeast Gulf of Mexico became the focus of new thunderstorm development across the Florida Keys. Gale force wind gusts occurred at several locations as the thunderstorms moved toward the east, sweeping across the length of the Florida Keys.
