A waterspout was observed about 10 miles north of Key West by a NWS employee and air traffic controller from Key West International Airport.

Wider weather episode

As a strong cold front approached the Florida Keys from the northwest, several waterspouts developed in association with showers and thunderstorms developing in advance of the front.
