Event narrative

An 88 year old woman was found dead 7 miles north of Crystal. The woman insisted on visiting her sister at 4 am, but her vehicle got stuck in melting snow and mud. She tried to continue on foot, but was unsuccessful. The woman's body was discovered several yards from her vehicle.

Wider weather episode

A brief warm up after several rounds of snowfall across the Chuska Mountains led to melting snow and muddy roads. A woman died of exposure after her vehicle got stuck in the mud and she tried to continue on foot.
