Two winter storm systems generated heavy amounts of snow...especially over the eastern San Juan and La Garita Mountains. Some of the heavier snow amounts were...6 to 9 inches near Walsenburg (Huerfano County)...Poncha Springs (Chaffee County)...Pueblo West (Pueblo County)...Fountain and the Air Force Academy (El Paso County)...12 to 15 inches in and near Crestone (Saguache County)...Monarch Pass and Buena Vista (Chaffee County)...Farista (Huerfano County)...Westcliffe (Custer County)...17 to 18 inches near the summit of La Veta Pass (Huerfano County) and 14 miles southwest of Creede (Mineral County)...and finally...an impressive 59 inches along Wolf Creek Pass.
