Event narrative

Winds gusted well over 100 mph on top of Hurricane Ridge.

Wider weather episode

A vigorous low pressure system off the coast generated high winds to the Olympic Mountains, particularly to areas exposed to southerly winds. The high winds lasted for 10 hours. Brief local high winds also occurred along the neighboring north coast.
