A west wind gust of 35 knots was measured at a Citizen Weather Observing Program station at the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority Pump Station on Long Key.
Wider weather episode
Numerous thunderstorms and a squall line in advance of a strong cold front moved rapidly east through the Keys, producing gale-force wind gusts both on shore and offshore.
