Amateur video showed a waterspout just off the Huntington Beach area. This waterspout matched up well with doppler radar imagery.

Wider weather episode

A series of strong winter storm brought unstable conditions across the coastal waters. With the unstable atmosphere, several thunderstorms developed which produced very gusty winds and weak waterspouts.
