A west-southwest wind gust of 38 knots (44 mph) was observed at an automated Weatherflow station at the USCG Station in Key West.
Wider weather episode
A fast-moving squall line moved east across the Florida Keys as a deepening low pressure system moved from the southeast Gulf of Mexico to the western North Atlantic east of the Florida Peninsula. Numerous gale-force and isolated storm-force wind gusts were observed.
