Thunderstorm winds blew down a large pine tree onto Highway 266.
Wider weather episode
A cold Pacific storm system and associated cold front brought locally high winds to the Mojave Desert and southern Great Basin. The system also spawned a few thunderstorms which enhanced the gradient winds.
