A wind gust of 59 mph was reported at the Catnip Mountain RAWS between 1600PST and 1700PST. A dust storm with visibilities below 1/4 mile was reported in Gerlach at 1800PST.

Wider weather episode

Strong and cold low pressure over the Gulf of Alaska on the 29th dropped slowly south and into the region on the 31st.
