Several rivers and small streams exceeded bankfull causing flooding of roads and damage to nearly 5000 homes, 20 of which were condemned. The property damage amount listed is estimated.

Wider weather episode

A Nor'easter developed off the Delmarva peninsula which produced an extended period of heavy rainfall across the area as it tracked very slowly to the northeast. This caused widespread flooding across portions of northeast New Jersey.
