A resident of 22 Oak St. in Lyme suffered from a heart attack and drowned after trying to move structures in his pond because of high water. He was pronounced dead at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital at 1610 EST.
Wider weather episode
A Nor'easter developed off the Delmarva peninsula which produced an extended period of heavy rainfall across the area as it tracked very slowly to the northeast. This caused widespread flooding across portions of New London County.
